From 2012 to 2017, Sonia Chow was the City Organizer of PechaKucha Night Hong Kong. PechaKucha Night is a non-profit organization which is now (as of March 2019) in 1,127 cities worldwide. At each event in this series of public speaking events, each presentation must stick to the signature format of 20 images x 20 seconds.
This page is an archive of past events, totalling ~200 speakers with audience counts between 40-500 people depending on venue capacity and theme, and included collaborations with the Hong Kong – Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of UrbanismArchitecture, HKIED, CityU, K11, Detour and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce across various locations in Hong Kong.

PechaKucha Night Hong Kong is heading back to the grassroots spirit of the PechaKucha mothership in Tokyo!
For those of you not yet familiar with PechaKucha (pe-chak-cha), it is a creative networking event which began in Tokyo in 2003, the brainchild of Klein Dytham architecture. Now in 875+ cities, the presentation format is standard worldwide: 20 images x 20 seconds with live narration. The time limit keeps it concise and fast-moving, a total of 6min 40sec per presentation.
Expect the unexpected! PechaKucha is a deck of wild cards – eclectic, fun and full of surprises. In addition to established professionals, the floor is also open to emerging talent, entrepreneurs and students in a relaxed atmosphere.
