UNI *CHAIR / LIGHT / SCULPTURE

Traditional craft mixed with modern materials. Plumbing hose and cable ties take on a new life as sculpture / lighting / furniture via coil weaving.

 

Inspired by visits to the Tsukiji fish market, this series was created for a solo exhibition in the first Tokyo Designers’ Block – Central East Tokyo event. Uni is ‘sea urchin’ in Japanese, my favourite sushi ingredient.
