Our first video is up on our new YouTube channel!
In December 2016, we built an art suite for ICEHOTEL Sweden, in Jukkasjärvi – a cool 200km north of the Arctic Circle. Take a peek behind the scenes at 14 days of construction, compressed into 6 minutes. Witness the process from our first day, leading up to the finished art suite.
In our art suite, called “Cat’s Cradle: La Petite Mort,” the bed sits on the curling tongue of a snow cat whose crystalline teeth rise up around you… ready to slide into its throat, in a feline variation of the Tunnel of Love.
This video was created with iMovie, using time lapse stills from a GoPro HERO4 Session, and supplemented with iPhone video clips and snaps taken on the fly as we worked to meet the deadline.
Thank you to the ICEHOTEL team, friends and artists for the technical and moral support during what was an intensely satisfying, simultaneously exhausting and exhilarating experience. We could describe it as “once in a lifetime” – but we’d love to do it again, so fingers crossed!
