As 2011 TED Prize Winner, French artist JR was challenged to change the world. His response? Inside Out: a global art project transforming messages of personal identity into works of art. On Friday, Laurent Segretier’s camera was set up on behalf of JR in Hong Kong at Galerie Perrotin. We dropped in for a peek as subjects were coaxed to give more while facing straight up at the lens. A selection of black-and-white portraits from the casting will be exhibited at the gallery in September and later sent around the world for wheatpasting at scales visible in satellite images on Google Earth.
